Apple airs first WWDC21 session recaps on YouTube

As it has done in recent years, Apple this week began to post video recaps of Worldwide Developers Conference sessions and their highlights to its official YouTube channel.

The first video, "WWDC21 Day 1: iO-Yes!," aired on Monday to summarize a keynote that introduced iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey to the world.

Highlights of day one include a redesigned Maps with detailed 3D assets, Safari upgrades, Live Text image recognition, Spatial Audio on FaceTime, SharePlay, new Apple TV audio options, Find My separation alerts, iCloud+, and more.

Apple also mentioned a number of upcoming features that are not scheduled for availability at launch this fall. These include ID cards in Wallet, as well as support for digital home, car and hotel keys.

The recap for day two, titled "Byte Passwords!," threw a spotlight on audio classification, ShazamKit, a special sit-down with aerospace engineer Tiera Fletcher, the new Screen Time API, inclusive app design, in-app subscriptions in StoreKit 2, Nearby Interaction, and Face ID and Touch ID sign on in tvOS.

Along with the daily recaps, Apple is creating daily morning digests that are made available through the Developer app.
