The previously reported reorganization of Apple Fitness+ to come under Apple's Health division comes alongside Apple Intelligence plans for 2026.
Apple Fitness+ moved from being under COO Jeff Williams's aegis to Health in October 2025 when his retirement was announced. At the same time, there were reports that Apple might launch a Health+ subscription service in 2026.
Now Bloomberg has repeated these reports, but also fit them into what it claims is Apple's overall Apple Intelligence offering in 2026. According to the report, the Health+ subscription will include a health chatbot, an AI agent designed to help users monitor their health.
That comes alongside the redesign of Siri in iOS 27 expected in June 2026. But it also comes alongside a reported review of Apple Fitness+, which has been Apple's weakest-performing paid Service.
But it's an inexpensive Service to run compared to higher-profile ones such as Apple Music or certainly Apple TV. Bloomberg claims that this is currently keeping the Service alive to keep down the likelihood of a backlash from users, and the certainty of negative press coverage.
An integration of Apple Fitness+ into Health+ seems obvious. The most likely benefit to the merger is a greater visibility for the service, and a more coherent offering overall.
For now, it's claimed that having Dr Sumbul Desai overseeing it, and reporting to Eddy Cue, there will be renewed attempts to improve the Service's popularity.
The reorganization comes as Apple Fitness+ is about to celebrate its fifth anniversary. For $9.99/month — or as part of the Apple One bundle — Apple Fitness+ offers whole series of workout programs designed for all levels of fitness.
It also consistently adds new programs plus, roughly annually, new series of its "Time to Run" and "Time to Walk" offerings. These are guided walks or runs where users listen to a celebrity as they workout.
