It's been a quiet week for Apple in the United States thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday. AppleInsider Editor Mike Wuerthele joins Wesley to discuss Tim Cook's retirement, Apple's accessibility moves, and the age-old tale of Android versus iPhone.
Reports of Tim Cook's 2026 retirement may have been exaggerated. It seems Apple won't be transitioning to a new CEO anytime soon, and even when they do, Cook will likely stay on as Chairman of the board.
Mike explains exactly why Hikawa's iPhone grip accessory is a useful accessibility-focused product and not some overpriced hunk of rubber. Proper research and development cost money, and that's why products catering to a variety of conditions can prove extra challenging and expensive.
What little news made it into the week seemed to have a heavy focus on the classic Apple versus Android discussion. Apple is about to overtake Samsung as the top smartphone seller in 2025, Google Pixel gains access to AirDrop, and Google aired an ad making fun of Apple's iPhone, again.
