Google has unveiled its new Pixel range just ahead of the iPhone 17 launch, which is now only weeks away. All that, and more, on the AppleInsider Podcast.
Just as surely as Google will always hold its new phone announcement ahead of Apple's, pundits are saying the Pixel 10 and Pixel Watch 4 are piling the pressure on Apple to catch up on AI. They would say that, but let's look at just what Google is promising — and not look too closely at its cringeworthy presentation or the new processor in the phones that is about the same as the iPhone 14.
You do need to look closely at any iPhone leaks such as the latest one purporting to show packaging for Apple cases called TechWoven. Right now we're at the peak time for accurate leaks — but also for fake ones.
Speaking of which, two left-field rumors this week said that Apple is giving up on the iPhone's Camera Control, but wait, maybe not, maybe just a redesign. It's not impossible, of course, but this particular rumor is a perfect example of just how much weight you can really put on leaks from the supply chain.
BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition. This time, pundits are saying Google is beating Apple on just about everything, but Apple seems to be shrugging. While every Google ad appears to compare the company's products to Apple's, Apple's own marketing never even mentions any rivals. It's as if Apple has all this competition, yet also doesn't have any.
