Even as the world counts down to the new year, AppleInsider staffers are here holding down the fort as we prepare for what's next — Apple Intelligence improvements, a bigger smart home push, and maybe even the iPhone Fold.

There is little doubt that 2025 was a complex and controversial year for Apple. In between product releases, the company had to deal with increased regulatory scrutiny, complicated political environments, and a significant shift in global trade.

Things are unlikely to slow down, as rumors point to an incredibly busy spring and a massive fall release cycle. There are multiple new iPhones, iPads, Macs, and smart home technologies expected, not to mention a range of OS 27 releases that will be revealed in June.

2026 is expected to start off with the revamped Siri and Apple Intelligence that will launch with iOS 26.4. An iPhone 17e will also be revealed early on, possibly February or March, and the Home Hub may finally be announced.

Signs point to the iPhone Fold being revealed in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Of course, if the new release cycle occurs, that's all of the iPhones for 2026, with the base models moving to early 2027.

The rest of the Mac lineup will get the M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max. There could even be an M5 Ultra, though it seems unlikely that the Mac Pro will see an update.

An iPad mini with OLED could also be revealed, and it may have additional water resistance features. The base iPad will finally get a chipset that enables Apple Intelligence on the model as well.

Apple's services are expected to see more changes and additions throughout 2026, beginning with some kind of Apple Fitness+ surprise coming in January. It is expected to move into a Health+ subscription later in the year, which will bring more AI features to your mountains of health data.

Whatever aspect of Apple you enjoy, it'll likely see some kind of update or change in the next year. It will be one of Apple's busiest years ever, so stay tuned to AppleInsider as we break everything down for you.

Have an excellent New Year's Eve and a happy New Year!
