On the AppleInsider podcast this week, multiple sources corroborate a September 14 Apple event, Apple Watch band photo reveals 45mm sizing, and we discuss "M1X" MacBook Pro, Mac mini hardware.
Several leakers, including Jon Prosser all concur that an Apple event will be held on September 14. They say it will feature the new "iPhone 13". A leaked photo from Twitter user DuanRui also reveals the "iPhone 13" product name on Apple packaging.
Two similar image leaks of the "Apple Watch Series 7" watch bands back up claims that the new device will be in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Previous reports claim that a hardware redesign is coming to the new model, along with 5G cellular connectivity, larger speakers, and a flat-edge design.
Apple is also expected to release the "M1X" powered 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models at some point this Fall. According to @Dylandkt on Twitter, these two sizes will sport the same Apple Silicon options and users will be able to customize the same specs with either size MacBook Pro.
The seventh betas for iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey have been released and several features are now delayed. SharePlay will come later, while iCloud+ Private Relay will only be available in beta at launch.
Those delays are confirmed by Apple, yet so much of our expectations come from leaks — and we're also seeing Apple staff being much more open to discussing the company publicly. We examine Apple's workplace secrecy, Slack, and the new AppleToo website created by employees.
Plus YouTube Picture-in-Picture is now available to Premium subscribers as a beta feature, and the AppleInsider podcast brings you a new Shortcut for pulling the word count from any text. See the links below and note that it works on iOS 15, but not macOS Monterey.
